Magic Johnson & the dream team
The Dream Team is considered by
many as the best team in the history of basketball. The United States team,
formed by 12 NBA stars, arrived at the Olympic Games of Barcelona 92. The first
player to be confirmed by the coach was Magic Johnson, the star of the Los
Angeles Lakers that had stunned the world by claiming it was HIV carrier.
The
own dictionary, some time later, was in charge of convince a Larry Bird, who
would retire in December 1992, that it was part of the team. "I called her
white ass and said 'Let's play'. We needed that emotion once more. Larry, who
hesitated because she had physical problems and didn't get a University place,
embraced", told Johnson when the Dream Team was inducted into the Hall of
Fame of the Basket. Victors surpassing 100 points in all matches were
proclaimed.
